nuclear isn't clean, and that's okay

2026-04-12

Very often I see people puport nuclear energy as the go-to end-all, be-all of energy. This is fine. I think that we should embrace nuclear with open arms and if people do so, even from a point of misunderstanding, I'm happy. Ish.
That being said, it get's under my skin a little bit when people claim that it's perfectly clean/renewable (we will use these terms interchangably. fight me. i'll lose.) Extraction and refining of useful fissile ore is one of the more intensive processes out there, and is not sustainable in the long term. The best option we have would be true renewables: Wind, Solar, Hydro, even that freaky shit china is doing with the waves. that being said: nuclear is MUCH more efficient in terms of a planet ruined/energy generated ratio than coal or oil. So it's practically clean and I'm just being pedantic. :p

why cd's are the best physical media and why nobody uses them

2025-04-02

"Ah. The Compact Disc, also known as the CD"
"C Deez Nutz."
So i've been brainwashed into following the trend of replacing your phone with stupider things that do the same function. In essence im getting more performative. Recently, I've decided that mp3s on my flip phone werent sufficient for the levels of larping I'm going for, so i spent about sixty bucks on a cd player.
CDs have all of the benefits of other physical medias, with like half the downsides. They:

  • can be burned by any amateur, faster than playback
  • are like basically lossless, or as lossless as you're getting with digital-physical media.
  • spin.
  • are cheap enough you can draw on them
  • can be read while moving
  • arent susceptible to goddamn magnets
  • did i mention they spin?

So why are you either 40 or a poseur if you use them??? to avoid sounding like a drooling socialist we wont talk about how corporations would rather have you rely on a monthly payment than a one-time purchase of a cd, because their business is structured around keeping its consumers paying fucking rent to listen to music, only to Not pay the artists??? Where is this money going??? oh right. Oh and then filling your platform with AI slop that takes from the genuine pennies artists are already making. That makes so much sense. You know who doesnt make any cents? the people making the fucking music that funds your platform. This is such an amazing business.
Oops. I mentioned it.

the allure of starting over.

2026-04-01

With so many aspects of my life I feel like I just need another attempt. The idea of being able to approach something with new knowledge and a better frame of mind is so inviting. maybe my generation is just doomed to have issues with commitment forever. Multiple times with this website I've wanted to (and have) start over from scratch. This (in my opinion) is the killer of motivation. Losing all progress is rarely ever going to help you. The same applies to like. the real world. i find myself daydreaming about leaving this town to start everything over again. but what would I gain? i guess i could choose a cooler name but i could also just do that now. hell, i already have.

first blog entry!!

2026-03-31

hi hi hi!!! I really liked the idea of being able to word dump and let people read thru it. Currently, i'm writing this into the god-damned blog.html file, but I want to eventually write these as .txt files or something similar that I can upload into a blogs folder, which the page would read from. I was even thinking of a tag search. I'm a long ways away though. This will have to do for now :p
I'm also very torn between having all blog posts render on one page or having each blog post as its own page (see things of interest, where each blogpost has its own slug)
